RMUTP Signs MOU with University of Victoria, CANADA, Investing in English Proficiency to Become a Leading International University

On May 6, 2025, Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), led an executive team to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Victoria (UVic), Canada. UVic is a world-class institution renowned for its expertise in English language teaching and international teacher development.

This partnership aims to drive the potential of RMUTP faculty and staff through a systematic English language enhancement program. A total of 21 participants from various faculties and institutes across the university joined this holistic development initiative. The program includes online sessions in Thailand followed by intensive practical workshops at the University of Victoria in Canada, learning directly from native speakers. This project is fully funded and supported by RMUTP to ensure the university’s progress toward becoming a premier international academic institution.

This collaboration serves as a vital mechanism for elevating the linguistic and academic competencies of the university’s personnel. Under the Global English Proficiency Enhancement Program, the initiative goes beyond improving English communication for instruction; it aims to transform RMUTP into a truly international institution. This preparation addresses the educational shifts of the 21st century, supports teaching for international students, and strengthens research capabilities. Furthermore, it focuses on learning Best Practices for international curriculum management and systematically transferring this knowledge throughout the organization to provide RMUTP students with a more globalized learning environment.

During this visit, the executive team observed classroom management and exchanged perspectives on developing English skills for higher education staff. They also conducted study visits focused on engineering and university administration, engaging in multi-dimensional knowledge sharing with the executives and faculty of the University of Victoria. Specifically, the discussions regarding engineering mark a significant step toward numerous future collaborations between the two universities.
