RMUTP and WTH Holdings Join Forces to Develop AI Innovations
[Bangkok] – Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) and WTH Holdings Co., Ltd. have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the “Academia-Business Cooperation for Developing AI Infrastructure & Application for Industry” (DAIAI) project. Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, and Mr. Wichai Thongtang, Chairman of WTH Holdings Co., Ltd., presided over the signing ceremony.
The event was attended by senior executives, including RMUTP Vice Presidents Asst. Prof. Dr. Prin Boonkanit and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kasidech Sutthivanich, alongside Mr. Worasit Leelaburanapong, Managing Director of WTH Holdings Co., Ltd., and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suchai Thanawastien, Director of N-Do Transformer Group Co., Ltd. The ceremony took place at the Rapeephat Meeting Room, Rapeephanasak Building, RMUTP (Thewet Center).
Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul spoke on the collaboration, stating that RMUTP recognizes that future development must go beyond traditional education. It must be driven by a vision that connects with global, economic, and social changes. Consequently, the university is focused on integrating social sciences, science, and technology to effectively address national challenges. “This partnership with WTH Holdings Co., Ltd. will strengthen our competitive edge in sustainable development,” he noted.
He further added that this cooperation will create learning opportunities and develop research that can be practically applied in the business sector. It serves as a platform for researchers and students to work with experts on social and economic development through internship and co-operative education exchanges. Students will learn from real-world experience, while exchanging expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital infrastructure development, and industrial AI applications to enhance Thailand’s industrial competitiveness. This is a vital opportunity for the university to develop future-ready human resources and progress toward becoming a “Metropolitan University.”
Mr. Wichai Thongtang stated that this cooperation is a significant step in building a bridge between academia and the business sector. The goal is to promote the development and expansion of future innovative businesses through research knowledge, as well as the utilization of resources and infrastructure. This will empower researchers and entrepreneurs to develop and adapt successfully in the digital economy era.
