RMUTP Partners with Harbin Engineering University to Advance Thai-Chinese Educational Collaboration
On April 21, 2026, Dr.Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mr. CHEN Hailong, Assistant to the President of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), People’s Republic of China. The ceremony took place at the Raphiphat Meeting Room, RMUTP Thewet Campus, with the primary goal of jointly enhancing higher education development between the two institutions.
The initial phase of the collaboration focuses on three key areas: the development of an Applied Thai Language curriculum for HEU students, and the creation of short-term programs in Engineering, Science, and Technology—specifically in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and Materials Science. Joint working committees will be established to oversee these initiatives. Furthermore, RMUTP will participate in the AI Camp hosted by HEU, sending students and personnel to join the program during the summer period from July to September.
On this occasion, the Chinese delegation visited the Institute of Digital Interdisciplinary and Robotics (IDIR) to exchange knowledge and tour state-of-the-art laboratories. Highlights included the Virtual Reality (VR) Welding Lab, the Collaborative Robot (COBOT) Lab, and demonstrations of AI-powered image processing technologies integrated with Reverse Engineering and 3D Printing. The delegation also visited the Digital Broadcast studio, which supports fully integrated learning.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding the development of short-term Robotics programs in collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suchai Thanawastien, Director of N-Doo Transformer Group Co., Ltd. This initiative aims to strengthen capabilities in robotics technology and industrial innovation to meet the future labor market demands of both nations.
