History
Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) was established on January 18, 2005, under the Rajamangala University of Technology Act. As a professional and technological higher education institution, its primary objectives are to provide education, promote advanced academic and professional disciplines with an emphasis on practical application, conduct research, train professional teachers, and provide academic services in science and technology to society, while also preserving art, culture, and the environment. Crucially, RMUTP aims to offer vocational education graduates the opportunity to pursue higher degrees in specialized professional fields. Currently, RMUTP comprises four campuses: Thewet Campus, Chotiwet Campus, Bangkok Commercial Campus, and North Bangkok Campus.
However, amidst the shifting landscape of global higher education and Thailand’s national strategy for human resource development—which aims to elevate Thai higher education to international standards (Internationalization) and cultivate a workforce capable of competing on a global scale—the RMUTP University Council approved the establishment of the “International College, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon” on June 25, 2025.
The establishment of the International College was executed under a clear strategic plan aligned with the university’s mission and its trajectory toward global prominence. The International College is dedicated to fostering a truly international learning environment. This is achieved through instructional design that integrates academic knowledge with professional skills, the creation of curricula that respond to the demands of the global labor market, and the development of learners’ competencies in languages, technology, and cross-cultural understanding.
Therefore, the International College of RMUTP does not merely respond to the national strategy regarding workforce development and the internationalization of Thai universities; it also lays the foundation for RMUTP to become a leader in international professional higher education. It achieves this by developing high-quality curricula, building global academic networks, and reshaping the university’s image as an institution open to collaboration and learning amidst cultural diversity.
Mission
The mission of the International College, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon, is to serve as a hub for developing graduates with the skills and knowledge necessary to adapt to the shifting trends of modern global education. This is accomplished by advancing research and supporting joint academic publications with international educational institutions. Furthermore, the college acts as a driving force to promote international academic opportunities for students through experiential learning exchanges with faculty members from both domestic and international institutions, as well as other academic activities that enhance the university’s internationalization.
These efforts ultimately enhance the capacity and potential of RMUTP to accommodate both Thai and international students. The ultimate goal is to produce high-quality, knowledgeable graduates capable of adapting to support the future expansion of the industrial sector and sustaining successful careers both domestically and internationally.
