RMUTP Showcases Thai Arts and Culture to Strengthen Thai-New Zealand Relations
On April 17, 2024, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) organized a Thai cultural exchange and welcoming event for educational executives and the official delegation accompanying the Prime Minister of New Zealand. Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of RMUTP, and the university’s executive team provided a warm welcome and led a tour of the Thai arts and culture exhibition.
The event featured a Thai potpourri (perfumery) demonstration by the Faculty of Home Economics Technology, a traditional “Rod Nam Dam Hua” ceremony (Songkran water blessing), and the presentation of traditional Thai garlands and “Pha Khao Ma” (loincloth) to the visitors as symbols of Thai identity. The delegation also visited Wat Devaraj Kunchon and the Golden Teakwood Museum at RMUTP’s Chotiwet Center.
Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul stated that Thailand and New Zealand have long shared strong ties in economy, society, culture, and education. He noted that New Zealand consistently prioritizes education for Thai youth through various language exchange and skill-development programs. This cultural exchange event aims to further solidify these bonds and pave the way for future educational collaborations between RMUTP and New Zealand institutions.
