On February 8, 2024, Dr. Natworapol Rachsiriwatcharabul, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP), along with Asst. Prof. Dr. Yuttapoom Suwannavej, Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, and the faculty’s executive team, held a meeting at the Rapeephat Meeting Room, Office of the President (Thewet Center). They met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teerarat Chapchainai, Senior International Consultant (Thai Department), and Miss Su Wei, Head of the Thai Department, Faculty of Oriental Languages from Jilin International Studies University (JISU), People’s Republic of China.
The discussion focused on recruiting Chinese students to RMUTP under the “3+1” Applied Thai Language program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts. The agenda also included establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) regarding academic exchange, student and staff mobility, joint research, professional internships, short-term cultural exchanges, and fostering international experiences for both Thai and Chinese students.
Jilin International Studies University is the largest private university in China providing Thai language education, with a high demand from students to learn three languages and gain cultural exposure abroad. This aligns with the upcoming launch of the RMUTP International College, which is ready to welcome international students across all faculties. Currently, RMUTP offers 9 international programs from 5 faculties, supported by specialized faculty members and world-class facilities prepared for global educational standards.
