On October 6, 2026, Rajamangala University of Technology Phra Nakhon (RMUTP) welcomed Prof. Gui Lohmann from the School of Engineering, Edith Cowan University (ECU), Australia. The delegation was received by Asst. Prof. Dr. Parin Boonkanit, Vice President of RMUTP, together with Asst. Prof. Sirikan Tirasuwanwasi and Asst. Prof. Dr. Thanapon Ratchatakunphat, Assistant Presidents, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, and representatives from the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Liberal Arts, and International College. The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to exchange ideas and explore potential areas of academic collaboration.

During the meeting, Prof. Lohmann presented ECU’s strengths in engineering, aviation, and applied research. He also introduced the Master of Aviation program, which focuses on developing expertise in aviation management, safety, aviation law, and sustainability within the aviation industry. In addition, ECU has expertise in various engineering disciplines, including mechanical engineering, mechatronics, renewable energy, environmental engineering, and materials science. Its research facilities and laboratories support hands-on learning and innovation development, aligning with RMUTP’s educational approach, which emphasizes producing practice-oriented graduates and applying technological knowledge to real-world challenges.

Both institutions discussed opportunities to expand collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including research networking, student and staff exchanges, and short-term academic activities such as Summer Camps and Study Abroad programs. Potential activities related to aviation technology education were also explored as practical starting points for future cooperation between the two universities.

This visit marks another important step toward strengthening international academic networks and promoting knowledge exchange with leading higher education institutions abroad. RMUTP aims to build upon the strengths of both universities to develop collaborative academic activities, research initiatives, and human resource development programs that respond to the needs of future industries, while continuously expanding international learning opportunities for its students and staff.
